Digital technologies for improved performance in cognitive production plants
The SIROKO’s main idea is the development of cognitive models based on functions suitable for the monitoring and control of the production process in industrial environments.
Innovation potential:
- improving performance of production units, based on cognitive technology and processing-reproducing data of multidimensional production processes to test and validate new strategies in a virtual environment
- methodology-tools based on multidimensional data (existing and under collection) to support and implement a control and forecasting model to optimize the production processes (per sector and throughout the factory)
- automatic optimization of processes and real-time update of cognitive models.
Pilot application field:
The cement mill and kiln processes were conducted at the TITAN cement factory of Thessaloniki .
The project SIROKO was implemented in the context of the Action RESEARCH – CREATE – INNOVATE and co-financed by the European Union and national resources through the OP. Competitiveness, Entrepreneurship & Innovation (EPANEK).
The project started in June 2021 and is expected to be completed in December 2023.
Scientific co-ordinator is Dr. Dimitrios Tzovaras from CERTH/ITI.
